Do the Mexican fare, not American!
Our hotel staff recommended Del's. The salad bar was small with 8 to 10 items, most items were crudites for the iceberg out of the bag salad, it also had hot pinto beans and one soup. The Mexican fare is regional. They
have good flour tortillas. The burritos were better than average and served enchilada style. The Carne Asada was just a piece a flank steak with very little flavor and the lightest amount of marinade. The chips and
salsa were under par and were served with the Mexican fare, or an extra fee if you order American. The beef hamburgers were BAD! If you can't do a hamburger justice, we worry about the steak, and would never order one.
The baked potatoes were soggy. However, the fried potatoes were extremely good. The service is hit-or-miss. We had to ask for items that should normally be brought without asking, i.e. ketchup and mustard for the
burger. It would have been nice to be offered a large dinner plate for Salad Bar only order, instead of making do with a 6" appetizer plate. As for value for your money, it's just not on the menu at Del's. We would say
that Mexican fare is the way to go at Del's. Breakfast might be their forte. We think it would be worth a try. Check out their menu for pricing. Http://www.delsrestaurant.com/newmenu.htm [29 Dec 2006 12:05:06]
